 INFORMATION FOR VISITING GOLFERS

 

• The Club, which has just over 650 members was instituted in 1842. Although a private members’ Club, visiting golfers are always made very welcome. On arrival at the Club we would be grateful if you could sign our visitors’ book giving brief details of your name, home Golf Club and place of residence. Once this has been done, please feel free to make use of our lounge, bar and catering facilities. We are proud to house a unique collection of memorabilia and photographs, together with USGA medals won by Carnoustie golfers.

• New members are always welcome and, at present, there is no waiting list or entry fee. Current rates of Subscription, for the year ended 31^st January 2014 are as follows:

Adults residing within 50 miles of Carnoustie                                                     £155

Adults residing outwith 50 miles, including Overseas                                       £140

Senior Members aged over 65 and having 10 years membership                   £ 100

Youth Members aged 18 to 25                                                                                 £ 100

Junior Members under 18                                                                                        £ 25

• Application forms can be obtained from the Club bar or from the Secretary, and can be sent out by post or e-mail. They can also be downloaded from our website www.carnoustiegolfclub.co.uk/membership-info.  Applications are considered by the Club Council at their meetings which are normally held on the last Friday of each month.
•  The Clubhouse is normally open from 6.30 am to 11 pm. In summer the bar opening hours are generally 11.00 am to 11.00 pm Monday to Friday with 10.00 am opening at weekends. In winter we usually close on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday at 6.00 pm.
•  There is a fairly informal dress code in operation which requires that members, their guests and visitors should dress with a degree of conventionality. Details of unacceptable items of dress are on the Club notice boards.
•  The Club’s bar and catering facilities are franchised and open to members and visiting golfers throughout the year.  During the summer months the dining room is normally open from 9.00 am to 6.00 pm but evening meals can be provided if booked in advance.

Membership of The Carnoustie Golf Club does not give any playing rights over the courses here and members require to pay a green fee or to obtain a season ticket from CGLMC Ltd. At present tickets are available only to residents of Angus and only for Monday to Friday play on the Buddon Course. There are waiting lists in operation for all other categories of season ticket and only Angus residents are being admitted to these.
